Sugar’s Fur Babies Express covers all pets that can be legally transported.
What is Shared Transport? Why is it less expensive? Is the quality of the ride compromised?
Shared transport is when your fur-baby’s route will be combined with other fur-baby’s routes traveling to and from similar locations. Choosing to ride Shared Transport will subject your route to be coordinated with others and the timing to be adjusted appropriately. ETA’s are determined once routes are closed/booked. ETA’s can be affected by weather, traffic, and puppy accidents. ETA’s are only an estimate not a guarantee. All Shared Transport packages are discounted due to their flexibility in making accommodations to other routes, however the quality of our adventures are NEVER compromised.
Is it possible for me to determine my fur-baby's pick up date in a shared transport?
All final pick-up dates will be determined by Sugar's Fur Babies Express. Customers submit applications with a rough estimate as to when they want or need their fur-baby to be picked up. Sugar's Fur Babies Express then coordinates existing or prospective routes and drivers to your own fur-baby's adventure. If you require a specific date, please inquire about a private transport.
What is Private Transport?
Private Transport is when your fur-baby’s route will be the only route being completed by the driver. Choosing to ride Private Transport allows for the most flexibility when scheduling. All Private Transports are treated as individual appointments and will not be combined or conflicted with any other route once finalized.
Where does my money go?
For same day routes, most of the expense goes towards gas and labor. As for overnight trips, hotel/motel fees as well as food and water fees will be added. There are many other smaller miscellaneous fees such as tolls that may or may not be applied depending on each fur-baby’s adventure and because of that all finalized totals will vary on a case-by-case basis.
Other than driving, what labor costs am I paying for?
There are many things a driver must do in preparation for a trip. For all trips, private and shared, the driver must communicate with the breeder and the customer to agree on a time and in some cases a place to meet each of them. That process becomes more complicated with Shared Transport because instead of just coordinating between one breeder, one customer, and one route, there are now multiples of each. It takes some time to find the most efficient route that satisfies each breeders, customers, and routes needs. Once everything is settled each adventure will have different needs some of which include; Giving food and water to your fur-baby. Stopping to exercise your fur-baby and allow them to breathe some fresh air. Controlling each individual fur-baby in a Shared Transport to ensure each fur-baby’s needs are met. Not only driving but driving extremely cautiously and constantly being aware of the movements they can see and the noises they can hear from the fur-baby(ies) they are transporting. All along the drive communicating between breeder, customer, and Sugar’s Fur Babies Express so all parties know where your fur-baby is at all times. Finally, at the end, the driver must return home and we do our best at Sugar’s Fur Babies Express to cover as much of that fee as possible.
